What licenses do I need to submit a project in SolarAPP+?

SolarAPP+ requires users to carry all the necessary licensing for contractors. When registering for an account, the installer may be asked to upload (1) their state contractor's license and (2) their city/county business licenses for the AHJ where they intend to submit projects, depending on that jurisdiction's licensing requirements. Please note that most AHJs require local licenses, and SolarAPP+ will not allow the contractor to begin a new project unless they have a verified state license and city/county license associated with their account for the AHJs that require them. SolarAPP+ does not allow homeowner builders to utilize the platform unless they hold the necessary licenses.

For your state contractor's and/or city/county business license to be verified, they must contain the following information:

  • Name of the issuing authority
  • Contractors name
  • Expiration Date
  • License number

We are unable to verify any licenses that do not contain all of the above information. With a valid receipt of payment for your business license, we may grant you temporary (7) day access to the jurisdiction in question. A physical license with all required items must be provided on or before the 7-day expiration date to extend access.

Please allow up to 48 hours for the SolarAPP+ team to verify your license information and enable you to submit projects. If you have not received an enabling confirmation message after 48 hours, please contact support@gosolarapp.org for assistance.
