When using the Schneider Pulse Smart Panel it is important to note that you can order it w/ the Backup Controller factory installed or order it separately and install it yourself.
It is also important to check with your jurisdiction and utility that the Schneider Smart Panel (Meter, MSP, BID device) will be approved for use in their area. This is similar to the concerns about the Tesla backup switch.
This model should be approved for use as the main panel with an integrated meter socket in California as well as AZ and NV per Schneiders's recommendation.
